Wendy Williams says Diddy 'single-handedly' tried to destroy her career, 'about time' she's in jail
Wendy Williams was once the queen of New York radio and made many friends — and one big enemy — with her popular Hot 97 show.
The former host, 60, had a long history of feuding with Sean “Diddy” Combs and even accused the bad boy billionaire of being solely responsible for firing him from the program in 1998 and kicking him off the airwaves for good.
Years later, Williams found success with her own self-titled talk show but repeatedly claimed that Diddy had tried to destroy her career. Williams recently broke her silence on Diddy's arrest following a federal investigation, telling the Daily Mail, “It's about time.”

Williams' beef with the powerful producer began before he was fired from New York's biggest radio station. She claimed in a 2005 episode of “The Wendy Williams Experience” that the women of one of Diddy's girl groups, Total, nearly beat her up.
During a 2019 episode of his talk show, Williams hinted that Diddy was involved in the fight and recalled the moment he confronted the women after signing off on air.
“Once, there was a music mogul who sent his entire girl gang to beat up my a– in front of the radio station. Fact!” She said “I finished my shift, rounded up my headphones, put my bag away [on] My arm and I saw everyone lined up by the window and staring at the sidewalk.

“The hell he put me through. I'll never forget. But I don't hate him.”
“Once upon a time there was a radio personality and her name was Wendy Williams, and she was practically burned for saying things like that, and now it's come full circle,” he said on Vlad TV. “There were so many situations in my career day, and it's all coming full circle.”
Williams regularly joked about Diddy's name change throughout his career. The recording tycoon had a history of changing his mane and at one point became Puff Daddy, then Puffy (a Williams favorite), then P. DD was known as Sean John and then simply “DD”.

“That was Wendy,” she said. “Wendy's whole thing was that Diddy was gay from the '90s. Wendy was just throwing that out there. … That's why Wendy got fired from Hot 97. Wendy got fired from Hot 97 by Diddy because Bad Boy was smoking hot at the time and yeah, it was. He was fired for keeping it there.”
When Diddy and Cassie briefly split in 2015, she hinted at power dynamic issues between the couple.
“My thing about when you date a mogul, it's really hard to avoid them because if you use your head, you never know when they're going to pop up on the scene,” he said. “He can rent a plane right now … land on the roof of the hotel he's staying in, pay the people at the front desk. 'Give me a key and let me up to his room.' I'm already paranoid as a person.”
In 2017, Wendy and Diddy put their 15-year beef behind them when he appeared on his talk show to plug his new film, “Can't Stop Want Stop: A Bad Boy Story.”
