TikTok star Taylor Russo Grieg's cause of death has been revealed, just a week after she died aged 25.

Taylor — who had more than 1.4 million followers on the social media platform — reportedly died Oct. 4 from complications related to asthma and Addison's disease, a representative for her family told Today.com.

A source close to the influencer's family confirmed to PEOPLE that he died of complications stemming from a severe asthma attack.

In the months before her death, Taylor addressed the pain she was experiencing while searching for a diagnosis. In a terrifying video, the TikToker shared that he feels like he's “fighting for life every day.”

“One girl said I looked like the life had been drained out of me. Honestly, for a while there, it's true,” he shared in the TikTok clip. “I feel like I'm fighting for life every day. When I didn't necessarily know what was wrong with me, I'd lay in bed in agony just wanting to die because I just wanted to get it over with and I don't feel like that now.”

Taylor held back tears as she shared, “I should be primed. I should be able to walk or run to the mailbox and those are things I can't really do now.”

Her husband, Cameron Grigg, announced her “sudden and unexpected” death on Instagram over the weekend.

“No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age,” Cameron's emotional post read. “This past year Taylor has dealt with more pain and suffering than most people in life. And yet she was still such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her.”

His wife, whom he married last year, is “the bravest and strongest woman I know,” Cameron said, adding that Taylor “saved my life and many others.”

He also revealed that he is donating his organs.

“More than anything, Taylor wants to know that she's going to save lives even after she's gone from this world,” Cameron wrote. “And even though his mortal body may fail him, his memory and life will be carried on forever. He doesn't hate anyone, anything. But he wants everyone to know he's okay.”

Taylor's family has launched a GoFundMe for expenses associated with her death. Cameron noted that they had “nothing financially” and had no insurance. As of Thursday afternoon, more than $51,000 had been donated toward the $100,000 goal.

Taylor and Cameron began dating in 2021 after meeting through social media. They got engaged in June 2022 and married in August 2023.

His last video was posted on September 26, showing him spending time with his beloved dog.
