The New Orleans Saints have announced roster moves
Timmer, 6-0, 205, rejoins the Black and Gold after spending 2024 training camp with New Orleans. The four-year NFL veteran was originally signed by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane in 2019. In his career, he appeared in 40 regular season games with 11 starts for the Chargers (2019) and Las Vegas Raiders (2021-23), recording 93 tackles (67 solo), one sack, three stops for loss, one interception, three pass breakups. and ten special team stops.
A New Orleans native who was a high school standout at Brother Martin, Timmer played in six games for the Raiders in 2023 and made four tackles (three solo), including a special teams stop. In 2022, he played in every game for the first time in his career with three starts for Las Vegas, 35 tackles (23 solo), a career-high two stops for loss, one pass breakup and a career-high five special teams stops.
Timar played four seasons at Tulane (2015-18), appearing in 46 games and totaling 197 tackles (128 solo), three sacks, three interceptions, 15 passes defended, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. As a senior in 2018, he finished with 72 tackles (45 solo), one sack, interception, seven pass breakups and one forced fumble, as the Green Wave won their first bowl game since 2002.
