Ted Danson and Kelsey Grammer Settle 30-Year 'Cheers' Feud: “Stuck in Both Our Memories”
More than three decades later, Ted Danson and Kelsey Grammer are putting the past behind them.
D Cheers The co-stars recently had a heart-to-heart with Danson publicly apologizing for an unprovoked argument they had on the set of the NBC sitcom for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993.
“I feel like I'm a little stuck with you Cheers I remember being angry at you once a year,” Danson told Grammer about her Where everyone knows your name podcast, co-hosted by Danson and Woody Harrelson.
“Yes, you came and told me one day,” recalls Grammar.
“It's stuck in both of our memories,” Danson noted. “But I feel like I've missed the last 30 years of Kelsey Grammer and I feel like it's my bad, my job. I apologize to you. And [to] I was the one who sat in the back… I really apologize.”
Grammer said she also wished they had “spent more time together” over the years, adding: “My love for you has always been as simple as day. As simple as a sunrise.”
Danson plays bartender/owner Sam Malone throughout Cheers' run, Grammer joined the cast in Season 3 in 1984 as therapist Frasier Crane.
Grammer went on to lead his own spin-off Frasierwhich ran for 11 seasons on NBC from 1993 to 2004 before returning for a Paramount+ revival, is currently in its second season after debuting last year.
