Shannon Sharp comes clean about viral Instagram sex tape: 'Disappointed in herself'

Shannon Sharp came clean about the uncomfortable Instagram Live post she made Wednesday afternoon, sharing live audio of her engaging in sexual activity with a woman to her nearly 3.2 million followers.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN personality admitted that his Instagram was not hacked and that it was actually him and a woman engaged in a sexual activity that he accidentally broadcast to his millions of followers.

“Of course I'm embarrassed. Anyone who has one of the most, very personal and intimate details of you — the audio — out there for the whole world to hear, I'm embarrassed for a number of reasons,” a remorseful-sounding Sharp initially said during an emergency episode of “Nightcap.”

“There are a lot of people who trust Shannon to always be professional and I always try to be professional, even when I'm behind closed doors. … I'm very disappointed myself, not for the acting. I think there are millions and billions of people of consenting age who are engaged in the activity, but I myself am disappointed to hear the audio. I let a lot of people down.”

It was Wednesday afternoon that the video went live on Instagram of Sharp engaging in activity with an unidentified woman, who can be heard crying.

Sharp initially claimed his Instagram account had been hacked over a post by X before deleting the post, and admitted on Wednesday night that his lack of technical knowledge caused the incident.

“I dropped my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity,” Sharp said. “I didn't know IG Live. I've never turned on IG Live so I don't know how it works and all of a sudden my other phone started shutting down.

It was Sharp's marketing partner Jamie Fritz who eventually alerted him to the situation, and it was another person who eventually ended the live video, he explained on the show.

“My phone was not hacked. It wasn't a prank, it was me being a healthy, active man”. “You'll think I'm bulging, ank put it in.”

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson attests to Sharp's lack of technical awareness, telling viewers during the episode that the three-time Super Bowl champ has dialed Butt in the past without him realizing it.

However, when Johnson tried to show Sharpe mercy, he couldn't help but be persuaded that Sharpe had chastised Johnson for his professionalism.

He claimed the clip was part of a cyber attack.

“I'm amazed. I never thought I'd see a day where you, Annecy, would pull something like that out of character,” Johnson said. “A bit unprofessional. I'm not mad, I'm just completely disappointed because I hold you to a high standard. The type of standard you just tried to punish me for on Saturday. So it really sent me into complete shock.”

Although Sharpe tried to be serious at first, the two made light of the situation, and several times — including before the start of the stream — Sharpe hacked a male enhancement product that the show sponsored.
