On Saturday, Selena Gomez attended the 4th Annual Academy Museum Gala in a navy suede Alaia halter gown with an exposed leather bustier that created a dramatic neckline. The bodice and skirt hugged her figure before fluttering to her feet in a short train.
For accessories, the star wore sterling silver bracelets and earrings from Tiffany & Co. and kept her hair out of her face. She wore a slightly smokey eye and a pale pink lip.
The Academy Museum Gala supports the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, raising funds for the venue's exhibitions, educational programs and public programming. The star-studded event is also used to honor filmmakers, this year presenting the Vantage Award to Paul Mescal, the Icon Award to Rita Moreno and the Luminary Award to Quentin Tarantino.
This past month, Gomez has been on a press tour for her new film Emilia Perez and is working on her Wondermind mental health platform alongside her Rare Beauty brand. Gomez spoke during the company's mental fitness summit for World Mental Health Day on October 10, revealing some of her own tough moments.
“I spend so much time in my bedroom that I don't actually sleep in my bedroom anymore,” she shared. “I associate it with such a dark time.”
Gomez continued, “Being anxious is very debilitating sometimes. I didn't want to leave my bed for years, and part of it was that I wasn't doing the work. You have to believe in yourself and do the work that you really want to do. Will shed some light.”
She said then that keeping her circle small has been a huge help.
“I don't have many people in my life. I know who my inner circle is,” he explained. “I have something to say. And I have a therapist too, but it's also good to have people around you who will just listen. There's a freedom in letting go of what's holding you back.”
