Sean “Diddy” Combs 'never sexually assaulted anyone,' lawyers insist as their client accuses 16-year-old boy of assault in latest case – UPDATE
Update 3:38 PM: Their client paid ex-girlfriend Casey Ventura nearly $30 million last year to quickly settle her assault and abuse lawsuit, and Sean Combs was caught on video beating the singer at an L.A. hotel in 2026. Still, with a half-dozen new lawsuits filed today, lawyers for the now-incarcerated 'I Need a Girl' performer insist Combs is innocent of past and present assault claims.
Indeed, with Combs now on the federal docket over claims he assaulted a 16-year-old bot in 1998, attorneys for the once-media savvy disgraced mogul are hoping to turn the spotlight on the Houston lawyer representing four men and two women. Those who have just filed their own actions, and about 100 others Tony Buzbee says are coming.
“The news conference and 1-800 numbers that preceded today's barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity,” Combs' legal team told Deadline this evening, hours after six new lawsuits were handed down in federal court in New York. “Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defense and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone – adult or minor, male or female.”
Buzby, a Texas lawyer, said he plans to file other lawsuits against Combs “and others” “in the next few weeks.” It is fighting criminal sex-trafficking charges and more from Fed Combs, in addition to about 20 other civil cases. The latter of which carries a prison sentence if the currently locked up Combs is convicted.
Earlier, at 1:02 PM: For the first time in all of the allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs, the incarcerated one-time music mogul is now facing claims he sexually assaulted a male minor.
In total, Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee today began making good on his promise last week to file lawsuits for nearly 120 alleged victims of the 'Last Night' performer, including six new actions for four Doss and two Jane Doss. Among the half-dozen plaintiffs filed in federal court in New York under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act for alleged actions by Combs between 1995 and 2021 were a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old. old boy
In an MO in a previous lawsuit against Combs, the now 42-year-old North Carolina resident's action says the rapper demanded the plaintiff “drop her pants” at a 1998 white party in the Hamptons. Combs then allegedly grabbed John Doe's penis and genitals with his hands and began “grabbing and feeling” the teenager's private parts.
Then, as the indictment repeatedly states, there was a promise to help the victim build a career in the music industry if they kept quiet. Five other lawsuits filed in New York court on Monday include claims that more men and women were apparently drugged with spiked drinks and assaulted by Combs and his entourage at parties and events, often out in the open.
In a truly shocking incident that occurred at Macy's flagship NYC store in May 2008, Combs is said to have forced an employee of clothing brand Echo to perform oral sex on her as punishment for being with a clothing company that competed with the company. The musician's own Sean Jean. Immediately after the attack, Combs reportedly took to the flagship floor to hand out Sean Jean merchandise to fans, while her male victim was soon fired after complaining to Macy's and Echo about what happened to him.
“We will let the allegations in the complaints filed speak for themselves, and work to see that justice is served,” Buzbee told Deadline today of the six new lawsuits and the glaring claims among them. “We expect to file many more cases in the next few weeks naming Mr. Combs and others as defendants to gather evidence and prepare filings.”
In familiar terms with past Combs allegations, the opening of one of the lawsuits filed Monday in the Southern District of New York is pretty clear about what it is.
“Defendant Sean Combs routinely recruited individuals into groups, drugged them and then sexually exploited them,” one of the new filings today began. The 20-page document added, “The conduct described herein is strikingly typical of defendant Sean Combs. “He was assisted in this despicable conduct by numerous individuals and organizations. Sean Combs has conducted himself for years as if he were above the law. He is not. . This suit seeks both compensatory and punitive damages for sexual assault and rape.”
Combs' representatives have been reached by deadline for comment on the six new lawsuits and will update this post if we hear from them.
Combs, who faces up to life in prison if convicted of sex trafficking and other charges when he was arrested on Sept. 16, is also currently fighting nearly 20 civil lawsuits.
While there have been rumors surrounding Combs' heavy involvement, violence and more for decades, it really started when his ex-girlfriend Casey Ventura, the founder of Bad Boy Records, sued him for assault and abuse last November. Combs denied everything, but quickly settled the matter for $30 million in less than 24 hours.
Those denials hit thin ice when a hotel surveillance video of a nearly naked Combs beating Ventura in LA was released in 2016. At the time, Combs apologized for his actions depicted in the video.
More recently, the video has become part of Combs' latest effort to gain pretrial freedom in his criminal case, with his defense attorney throwing shade at the Department of Homeland Security for allegedly leaking the tape — which the US Attorney's Office has denied, DHS has pointed out the video never existed, and the SDNY DOJ Never knew about it until it came out in the media.
As it stands now, after two previous failed attempts to spring Combs from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn with a $50 million bond and home detention, a motion for bail was docketed last week, with the rapper's trial set to begin on May 5, 2025.
