Sean 'DD' Combs Named in At Least 6 New Cases; Alleged involvement of other celebrities CNN
Six new civil lawsuits have been filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs, including one from an accuser who says they were minors when they were accosted and assaulted by a drug producer.
For the first time in the mounting lawsuit against Combs, other celebrities are cited and accused of taking part in an alleged assault in a claim, although they are not identified by name.
Three plaintiffs are women and three are men, submitted as either Jane Doe or John Doe All but one alleged they were drugged by Combs.
In a lawsuit filed by one Jane Doe, she says she was 13 years old in 2000 when she was invited by a limo driver to attend an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty thrown by Combs in New York City. After consuming one drink, Doe's complaint states that he felt drowsy and was looking for a place to lie down. Combs, joined by an unnamed male celebrity and an unnamed female celebrity, came into the bedroom where she was resting.
The lawsuits, five of which were filed Sunday in New York federal court and one in New York Superior Court, allege rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, battery, or false imprisonment by Combs between 2000 and 2022 in New York, Los Angeles or Las Vegas. All of the alleged incidents occurred at parties hosted by Combs.
“You're ready to party!” Combs told Doe, according to his complaint.
The unnamed male celebrity proceeded to rape Doe, her lawsuit states, while Combs and the unnamed female celebrity watched. According to her lawsuit, Combs then raped Doe, as two other celebrities watched.
The latest lawsuit against Combs, filed last week by Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee and co-counsel Andrew Van Arsdale, joins six others, who previously said they represent at least 120 of Combs' alleged victims, including minors.
When reached for comment about the latest filing, Combs' representatives referred CNN to a previous statement from his attorneys in which they denied allegations in six other lawsuits filed by Buzbee's firm last week.
“Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defense and the integrity of the judicial process,” Combs' attorneys said in a statement. “In court, the truth will prevail: Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted anyone – adult or minor, male or female.”
Federal prosecutors accused Combs of orchestrating a “criminal enterprise” through his business empire that involved decades of sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping and physical abuse against women. She has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of engaging in sex trafficking, racketeering and prostitution.
Combs remains in custody in New York as he awaits trial, set to begin in May.
Over the weekend, his attorneys asked the judge overseeing his federal case to issue an order barring potential witnesses and their attorneys from talking about the allegations against Combs.
“This court should exercise its discretion in issuing an order restraining all potential witnesses and their counsel from making extrajudicial statements that would have a substantial potential to interfere with Mr. Combs' trial or otherwise prejudice the proper administration of justice,” Combs' lawyers wrote. to the judge
Since November 2023, at least 25 civil lawsuits have been filed against Combs alleging sexual harassment or misconduct. The initial lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Casey Ventura was settled the next day. Other cases are active.
Combs denied the allegations.
Prosecutors said their criminal investigation is ongoing and additional charges or defendants could be added to a possible additional indictment.
