“Rust” will premiere at a film festival next month, three years after cinematographer Halina Hutchins was killed in a shooting on the set of the western.

The world premiere screening will take place at the EnergaCAMERIMAGE festival in Poland on November 23, with a panel discussion with the film's director Joel Souza, who was injured on the shoot, cinematographer Bianca Cline and Stephen Lighthill, a mentor to Hutchins. Film school.

“The filmmakers will discuss the events surrounding the film, providing insight into how production continued even after Halina's death. “Maintaining Hutchins' artistic vision, as challenging as it was for the entire crew, was really important to the filmmakers, hoping to fulfill their duty to complete his work,” an announcement for the screening said.

Hutchins, 42, was killed by live rounds fired from a prop gun held by actor and producer Alec Baldwin. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter and pleaded not guilty, but the case was dismissed with prejudice in July for withholding evidence by prosecutors.

Hannah Gutierrez Reid, who was the armorer in charge of the firearms on the movie set, pleaded guilty in March to involuntary manslaughter. He is serving an 18-month sentence.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin will not be attending the screening. CNN has reached out to Baldwin's representatives for comment.

Hutchins' widow filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Baldwin and others involved in the movie's production and reached an undisclosed settlement in the case last year.

As part of the settlement agreement, Hutchins' husband, Matthew Hutchins, will become an executive producer of “Rust” when it resumes filming. The two were parents to a son.
