Prisco's Week 7 NFL picks: Packers top Texans, Vikings to stay undefeated over rival Lions

Prisco's Week 7 NFL picks: Packers top Texans, Vikings to stay undefeated over rival Lions

It's Momentum time for me to pick up games.

After a slow start, sports betting picked up speed as I went 8-6 against the spread and 12-2 straight last week. This takes my ATS record to 46-43-3 and my straight-up record to 51-41. I'll take it.

There are many high-profile games this week, including a rematch of last February's Super Bowl where the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers. This time, the game is in San Francisco and not on a neutral field, giving the 49ers a big edge. But is it enough to pick them?

Read on and find out who I'm picking as well as all my other sports betting picks. It's the third Sunday in October, which means we better appreciate the season — at least for 6 weeks it sure felt like it. Let's keep the momentum going.

This is Sean Payton's return to face his former team. But unlike those Saints teams, this Denver team is limited on offense. They play good defense, but will be without star corner Patrick Surtain. He will replace Spencer Rattler at quarterback for the Saints after making his first start last week. I think he will play solid football here and the Saints will beat their former coach.

sort: Saints 23, Broncos 16

Bonus: Matt Severance, who is on a 21-6 roll in Broncos games, has released his best bets for the Week 7 “Thursday Night Football' game. Severance is leaning toward the under total but who is he backing to cover? Find out here at SportsLine.

Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET (NFL Network, fubo)

This week's dog game. Both teams have major issues, but at least the Patriots have an excuse to start a rookie quarterback in Drake. With Jacksonville being the last ranked passing defense, he could hit them with some big plays. But Jacksonville is a better team and Trevor Lawrence will play a little better.

sort: Jaguars 29, Patriots 21

It's a long trip for a Seattle team coming off a three-game losing streak. The defense is struggling. That's not a good thing against a good Atlanta offense. Look for a lot of points here with both quarterbacks playing well. But it's Kirk Cousins who plays well for the Falcons.

sort: Falcons 34, Seahawks 30

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

The Bills are playing a week after beating the Jets. The Titans are coming off a bad loss at home to the Colts. Their offense was lifeless for most of the season, while the Bills could roll the points. But I think the Tennessee defense will hold the Titans in this one. It's closer than expected.

sort: Bills 23, Titans 17

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

The Battle of Ohio isn't what we thought it would be when the season started. The Browns are terrible on offense, while the Bengals have struggled on defense. Something has to give here. I say Joe Barro plays well and the Bengals defense continues what other defenses have done for the Browns this season, forcing Deshaun Watson to struggle. Bengal won.

sort: Bengals 21, Browns 17

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

This game featured two of the best young passers in the league in C.J. Stroud and Jordan Love. Both can put up big numbers in the passing game. The Texans are playing back-to-back road games, which is tough. The Packers would get the best of it as Love won a shootout with Stroud.

sort: Packers 34, Texans 30

Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts (-3.5)

Sunday, 1 pm ET (fox, fubo try for free)

The Dolphins are coming off their bye, which they desperately needed, while the Colts are coming off a win over the Titans. Anthony Richardson will return for the Colts at quarterback, while Tyler Huntley will start for the Dolphins. Both of these teams have defensive issues stopping the run, so look for the Colts with a better run game to find a way.

sort: Colts 21, Dolphins 17

It's tied for first place in the division with the Vikings bye and the Lions coming off a sweep of the Cowboys on the road. The Lions lost Aidan Hutchinson to a broken leg, which will greatly impact their pass rush. Look for Sam Darnold to throw Austin Jefferson. The Lions will get them too if Jared Goff plays well. It will be a fun one to watch, but the Vikings will win it.

sort: Vikings 31, Lions 26

The Eagles didn't look good in beating the Browns last week, while the Giants lacked offense in their loss to the Bengals. The Giants defense is playing well, while the Eagles offense is not. The Giants will return receiver Malik Nabers in the meantime, which is very important. The Giants won it in an upset.

sort: Giants 24, Eagles 20

Sunday, 4:05 pm ET (CBS, Paramount+)

The Rams are coming off a bye, which they needed due to injuries. The Raiders lost two straight and Aidan O'Connell's change at quarterback improved the offense but did not win. How does the Davante Adams trade affect this team? The Rams are the better team and Matt Stafford will be the better quarterback. The Rams take it.

sort: Rams 27, Raiders 19

Sunday, 4:05 pm ET (CBS, Paramount+)

This is a game that features two defenses that have two offense problems that can score. So look for a shootout between Jayden Daniels and Andy Dalton. In the end, I bet Daniels will get the best of it as Washington bounces back from last week's loss to the Ravens.

sort: Commanders 35, Panthers 27

Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers (-1).

Sunday, 4:25 pm ET (Fox, fubo try for free)

It's a big game for both teams, a Super Bowl rematch. The Chiefs are coming off a bye, while the 49ers played last Thursday so that negates it a bit. The 49ers are struggling on defense, which doesn't bode well against Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs are playing well on defense. They carried it over as they won a tough road game.

sort: Chiefs 27, 49ers 23

Sunday, 8:20 pm ET (NBC, fubo try for free)

The Jets made a move to take Davante Adams, who should help the offense if he plays. The Steelers have a quarterback problem again as it looks like Russell Wilson is taking first team reps. Regardless of who plays, it will be playmaking and defense that will key this game for the Steelers. But the Jets will bounce back to play good run defense and Aaron Rodgers will do enough to win a tough road game.

sort: Jets 23, Steelers 17

Monday, 8:15 pm ET (ESPN, fubo try for free)

This is a big game between two of the best teams in the league right now. Both offenses can roll big points in a hurry. This could be one of those games where the last team with the ball wins. At home and on Monday, I'll go with Becker Mayfield to win a shootout.

sort: Bucs 34, Ravens 31

Monday, 9 p.m. ET (ESPN+)

The Chargers hit the road for the second week in a row after winning in Denver. The Cardinals are at home for the first time in three weeks. Arizona is weak on defense, which shows weekly – even when they play hard. I'm betting the Chargers will win behind their offense. As the Chargers defense continued to play well, Keillor Murray couldn't keep up.

sort: Chargers 27, Cardinals 14
