“Leave it to our new Video Vanguard, Catherine HudsonBloom said on stage at New York's UBS Arena before mentioning the singer's birth name, “Katy Perry!”

“You fell in love with her as Katy Perry, I fell in love with her as Katherine Hudson,” he added. “You know him as a global superstar who brings love, light and his unique sense of humor to every song he writes and every music video he makes.”

Bloom went on to praise the Grammy winner's role as the mother of their 4-year-old daughter Daisy.

“I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings that same sense of love and joy to our family,” gushed the 47-year-old. “He loves with all his heart and it's kind of overwhelming. Congratulations on this honor baby, I'm so proud of you.”
