On-base machine: Muncie hits 12 straight, breaking PS record
NEW YORK — In the second inning of Game 2 of the National League Championship Series at Dodger Stadium, Max Muncie's bat hit 105.1 mph as a Shawn Mania sank and settled into Mets center fielder Tyron Taylor's glove.
It was memorable because it was the last time the Mets would retire Muncie for a good, long time.
The longtime Dodger homered in his next at-bat and continued, reaching the plate safely his next 12 times to set the all-time record in a single postseason. According to Elias, only one player has reached multiple plate appearances in a row spanning multiple postseasons and that's Mr. October himself. Reggie Jackson reached 12 postseason plate appearances for the Yankees from 1977-78.
Now comes Munshi. With three walks in his second plate appearance in Game 2 and a single in his first four plate appearances in Game 4, here's what his streak looks like:

Muncie's third walk in Game 4 tied David Ortiz (2007) and Billy Hatcher (1990), who each reached safely in 10 straight postseason plate appearances. Ortiz, who is commentating this NLCS for FS1, did it for the Red Sox. Hatcher did it for the Reds.
“[Game 3] It was a clinic in how you handle at-bats,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Muncie's run. “I don't think he swung a ball all night, which is pretty remarkable.”
