Olympic chiefs have revealed two conditions for Tom Cruise's involvement in the Paris closing ceremony stunt

Tom Cruise had two conditions to participate in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games: he had to do everything in an epic secret stunt, and he participated for free.

Page Six reports that Casey Wasserman, president and chairman of the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, revealed the extent of Cruz's involvement during the CNBC x Boardroom: Game Plan panel in Santa Monica.

The newspaper quoted Wasserman as describing Cruise's attempt at the stunt, which saw him drop from the roof at the Stade de France in Paris, before accepting the Olympic flag from Simon Biles and LA Mayor Karen Bass, riding a motorbike and finally heading to LA, where he has competed in five Olympics. Replaced the Hollywood Sign with the ring.

Wasserman said of Cruise: “He's done filming Mission: Impossible At 6pm in London, boarded the plane. He landed in LA at 4am and filmed the scene boarding a military plane.

Wasserman said that “every step of the way, (Cruise) got more involved and more engaged,” and eventually did the pre-taped stunt for free.

He said: “We're like, 'Well, there's no way we're going to get this. We will have four hours of filming time. We'll do the job … with the Hollywood sign, he'll close the thing and he's done. Maybe we'll get other things, and the rest will just be a stunt double.' About five minutes into the presentation, (Cruz) goes, 'I am. But if I could do everything, I would do it.'

The closing ceremony of the Olympics offers a mix of French culture and LA atmosphere, culminating in a performance by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in Long Beach. The Games move to Los Angeles for 2028.
