Oasis announces world tour dates with concerts in the US, Canada and Mexico
Oasis have announced that their reunion tour will take them to the US, Canada and Mexico in August and September 2025.
The band previously teased news on billboards in New York, Toronto, Chicago and other cities. “Be careful what you wish for,” the ad said.
They will play Toronto Rogers Stadium on August 24, Chicago Soldier Field on August 28, New Jersey MetLife Stadium on August 31, Los Angeles Rose Bowl Stadium on September 6 and Mexico City's Estadio GNP Seguros on September 12. US rock band Cage The Elephant will support throughout the dates.
The dates will be Oasis' first in those territories since 2008, when they toured Dig Out Your Soul. The band's first American tour for Definitely Meb from 1994-95 remains infamous: after a boozy, messy gig at the Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles, Noel Gallagher quit the band for several days.
The international dates come in addition to the 19 sold-out UK and Ireland dates already announced, including five additional dates to the original total of 14.
After an initial sale in August left many fans without tickets – after hours of technical problems and queuing frustrations – the band added two new shows at Wembley Stadium which were sold out via a staggered invitation-only ballot, with fans who initially failed to get first access to the sale. will be given.
It remains to be seen whether the international dates will be subject to Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing policy, where demand has seen a £135 standing ticket rise to £337.50 plus fees.
In a statement, the band said it was unaware dynamic pricing would be used in sales.
“Obviously the interest in this tour has been so overwhelming that it is impossible to schedule enough shows to meet the public's demand,” they said. “Regarding the well-reported complaints by many buyers about Ticketmaster's handling of dynamic ticketing: It needs to be clarified that Oasis leaves ticketing and pricing decisions entirely up to their promoters and management and at no time had any awareness of this dynamic pricing. will be used.”
In the wake of the ticket debacle, the government has announced that it will include dynamic pricing in the ticket review promised in its election manifesto. Consumer law experts added that while the practice is not illegal, Ticketmaster may be violating consumer laws if the potential price increase for basic standing tickets is not made clear to fans.
Which is the consumer group? The band and Ticketmaster have requested refunds to fans who paid inflated prices.
Ticketmaster does not set ticket prices and has argued that dynamic pricing discourages ticket brokers from adjusting prices to market prices. It is believed ticket prices for Oasis gigs were set by promoters SJM Concerts, MCD and DF Concerts & Events.
In a typically combative response, however, Liam Gallagher brushed off criticism of the pricing by telling one complainer at X to “shut up” and another to “get on your knees and buy a ticket”.
