Numerous varieties of frozen waffles have been recalled for possible listeria contamination
Hundreds of varieties of frozen waffles from major brands such as Good & Gather, Publix and Best Choice have been recalled due to a potential listeria risk, the manufacturer said Friday.
TreeHouse Foods, Inc., decided to voluntarily recall the waffles after routine testing at the manufacturing facility revealed the potential risk.
The company noted that no consumers have been reported to have become ill after eating the frozen waffles.

The recalled brands with frozen waffle packages include: Always Save, Best Choice, Bettergoods, Breakfast Best, Clover Valley, Essentials, Food Lion, Foodhold, Giant Eagle, Good & Gather, Great Value, Hannaford, Harris Teeter, HEB Higher Harvest, Kodiak Cake, Waffles at Price Chopper, Publix, Snacks, SE Grocers, Simple Truth, Tops, Western Family, Great Value, Selection, No Name and Compliments.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause muscle aches, nausea, high fever and diarrhea and can be potentially fatal to children, the elderly and the immunocompromised. It can also cause pregnancy complications, miscarriage and stillbirth.
Treehouse Foods said the waffles were distributed in the United States and Canada.
Consumers should return the recalled products to the store where they were purchased.
The waffles were sold at a variety of locations, including major retailers such as Target, Walmart, and Publix.

Last year, Van's gluten-free waffles were recalled for potential allergens, and in 2022 waffle and pancake mixes sold at Kroger and Walmart were recalled after “cable pieces” were found inside the box.
