Nikki Garcia's twin sister, Bree, encourages her to leave Artem Chigvintsev: 'No violence flies'
Nikki Garcia's twin sister Bree Garcia has her back.
Brie reportedly urged Nikki to leave her relationship with Artem Chigvintsev after her recent domestic violence arrest.
“Bree encouraged Nikki to leave the marriage. “Any kind of violence doesn't fly, and they were very worried about Nicki and her son,” a source told “Entertainment Tonight.”
The insider also said that Nikki, 40, and the former “Dancing with the Stars” pro, 42, are currently “not living under the same roof” because the former WWE wrestler was left “scared and upset” by the incident.
Chigvintsev was taken to jail in Napa Valley, California on August 29 on a felony charge. He was released on $25,000 bail later the same day.
The source told “Entertainment Tonight” that the dancer “feels unprepared to deal with everything that comes her way.”
Close friends of the couple previously said they were not completely shocked by the news of Chigvintsev's arrest as the couple's marriage had always been “unstable”.
Nikki filed for divorce from Chigvintsev on Wednesday, nearly a week after TMZ reported that she was seeking legal help from lawyers.
The estranged couple also share a 4-year-old son, Matteo.
Nikki petitioned the court for full legal and physical custody, with Chigvintsev allowed to visit. He also requested a denial of spousal support.
Chigvintsev, however, requested spousal support and joint legal and physical custody of Matteo. He also asked Nikki to pay her legal and attorney fees.
The two tied the knot in Paris in August 2022. They celebrated their second wedding anniversary the day before Chigvintsev's arrest.
