Nick Bosa crashes interview with 49ers teammates for Donald Trump's statement after Cowboys win

San Francisco 49ers' hard-hitting defensive end Nick Bosa flaunted a “Make America Great Again” hat after the team's win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, just days before the 2024 election.

NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark was interviewing quarterback Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle and running back Isaac Guerredo when Bosa, 27, jumped in to show his support for former President Trump.

The star pass rusher pops up behind Purdy and, without saying a word, points to his white and gold Maga cap before turning off the camera.

“Well, Nick Bosa got a message out there,” Starc said, laughing off the block as his teammates laughed and laughed at the stunt.

His teammates did not comment on the stunt.

Speaking on stage after the game, Bosa was asked if the hat was on display and whether it was a “political statement” ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

“I won't talk too much about it, but I think it's an important time,” Bosa said.

He appears to be among the few active NFL players endorsing the presidential candidate this election season, along with Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who endorsed Trump earlier this year.

Bosa was never shy about showing his support for the 45th president.

The former Ohio State defensive end was selected second overall by the 49ers in 2019 and received a congratulatory shout-out from then-President Trump, telling him to “always stay true to yourself”.

“Big talent! San Francisco will embrace you but most importantly, always stay true to yourself. Make America great again!” Trump posted on X – officially Twitter.

However, before the draft, the four-time Pro Bowler said he was forced to delete some tweets expressing support for President Trump.

“I had to,” he told ESPN. “There's a chance I could end up in San Francisco.”

Among his deleted tweets was a statement in which he called former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick a “clown” for kneeling during the national anthem.

According to SFGate, Bosa was also quoted as saying he was a “big fan” of the former commander-in-chief when Trump was running for office in the 2016 presidential election.

“Yeah, big fan,” Bosa said at the time, according to the outlet. “He brings charisma that no other candidate has [had] in my lifetime.”

Bosa, a Fort Lauderdale resident, tweeted “love this guy” while retweeting a video of Trump's weekly address.

He also posted a photo of himself giving a thumbs up next to a cardboard cutout of Trump.

Earlier this year, the NFL star was also seen posing for a photo with Trump at a UFC event along with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and defensive end Sam Hubbard.

During Sunday night's 30-24 win over the Cowboys, he had three tackles, a sack and three QB hits.

The 2022 Defensive Player of the Year now has 4.5 sacks in the 2024 season.
