NFL Odds, Vegas Lines, Picks, Spreads, Game Predictions: Model High on 49ers, Packers Week 5, 2024

The Cowboys vs. Steelers is one of the rare non-conference NFL rivalries thanks to their postseason history. In fact, their three Super Bowl meetings are the most common in the game's history. The two will clash on Sunday Night Football in Week 5, and Pittsburgh is a 2.5-point home favorite at NFL Odds after opening as a 1.5-point underdog. The Steelers vs. Cowboys could be a Super Bowl 59 preview, as is the Monday Night Football game of Chiefs vs. Saints, in which Kansas City is favored by 5.5 after the latest Week 5 NFL spread opened the line at 7.5. Every game this week is lined up within seven points.

The Week 5 NFL schedule has a few more interesting Week 5 NFL matchups outside of primetime. Ravens vs. Bengals (+2.5, 49.5) kicks off Sunday at 1 pm ET, as do Bills vs. Texans (+1, 47.5), one of the thinnest NFL betting lines of the week. Later in the afternoon, a pair of 2-2 AFC West opponents will face off in the Broncos vs. Raiders (+2.5. 36). All of the Week 5 NFL lines are listed below, and SportsLine's advanced computer model has all the NFL betting tips and NFL predictions you need to pick the best Week 5 NFL picks right now.

Top Week 5 NFL Predictions

We can tell you one of the model's strongest Week 5 NFL picks covers the spread vs. the 49ers (-7, 49.5) Cardinals. San Francisco is close to full strength after getting DeBo Samuel and George Kittle back last week, and that was evident in the result vs. New England. The 49ers won 30-13, a 17-point victory that was their biggest since Week 13 of last season. The Niners had a season-high 431 yards and forced three turnovers, while Arizona is coming off a 28-point home loss to Washington, tied for its fifth-largest home loss in the last 35 years.

The 49ers have beaten the Cardinals in four straight meetings, but they have blown out their division rivals as they have come away with each of their wins by at least 16 points. The Cardinals enter Week 5 with back-to-back ATS losses and their straight 9-29 record since 2022 is the worst in the NFL. The model expects San Francisco's dominance to continue in Arizona, with the Niners winning by more than two touchdowns and covered more than 60% of the time as 7.5-point favorites. See other team picks here.

Another of Week 5 NFL betting predictions: Packers (-3, 48.5) covers Rams vs. road. Green Bay is coming off a loss to Minnesota in which Jordan Love made his comeback and was clearly rusty early. The Packers fell into a 28-0 hole, but then outscored the Vikings 29-3 over the game's final 35 minutes. Love set career highs in both passing yards (389) and touchdowns (four) before a matchup with a Rams defense that is 31st in both points allowed and yards allowed.

Los Angeles only allowed Caleb Williams to have his best pro game, a loss to the Bears in both career-completion percentage and passer rating. LAO can only score one touchdown on offense because of the weakness on that side of the ball. The Rams have the No. 28 rushing offense and are still missing WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua in the passing game. Love should be much more consistent the other week moving off of his injury, with the model predicting Green Bay (-3.5) covers more than 50% of the time. The model also says that over (47.5) hits in more than 50% of the simulations. See other team picks here.
