Lupita Nyong'o has also confirmed she is single for months after getting hot and heavy with Joshua Jackson in Mexico

Lupita Nyong'o and Joshua Jackson's hot romance has cooled.

The “Black Panther” star revealed she's single while discussing her cat, Yoyo, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK published Wednesday.

“My love for my cat is singular. If I'm ever lucky enough to be in a romantic relationship again, it will be because of her,” she said.

“I was ready to close that door and lock it and bolt it. He made sure my heart would be open.”

Yoyo was adopted from Best Friends Animal Society in October 2023 after Nyong'o and sports commentator Selema Masekela split.

Coincidentally, she and Jackson were first linked that month when they were spotted at a Janelle Monae concert in Los Angeles.

The pair confirmed their romance in December 2023 when they held hands while walking in Joshua Tree, California.

They proved their relationship was more than just a fling when they passionately kissed on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, as they celebrated Nyong'o's 41st birthday in March this year.

Jackson, 46, was newly single. His estranged wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, filed for divorce in October 2023 after four years of marriage.

The “Queen & Slim” star, 38, broke her silence on her ex's new relationship in June, saying, “I really hope they're happy and that it benefits us as a family.”

While Nyong'o didn't mention her relationship with Jackson when speaking to Harper's Bazaar UK, she did reflect on her public split from Maskela.

“It's hard enough to go through heartbreak personally,” the Oscar winner said.

“When someone else in the world has an image of you, it prolongs the healing process because the memory is integrated into the public domain.”

After she and Maskela called it quits, Nyong'o admitted that she was “in a season of heartbreak because of sudden love and devastatingly extinguished by cheating.”

She also said she “can't trust” her ex anymore.
