Liam Gallagher Responds to Oasis Brothers Feud in 'SNL' Sketch Poking Fun

Today is going to be the day Liam Gallagher turns it around Saturday Night Live.

In a brief one-liner posted on X this morning, the half-brothers of rock band Oasis responded to the matter. SNL “Weekend Update” spoof, starring Sarah Sherman as her and James Austin Johnson as her brother Noel Gallagher.

“Are they meant to be comedians,” the musician wrote, which Sherman wrote, “Legend 🙌 !!!!!!!!” In reference to the heavy use of the word farce.

The bit, introduced by host Colin Jost, featured two notoriously feuding brothers, who couldn't seem to agree on anything other than their favorite cartoon characters and Sex and the City The source of their feud is speculated to be over Johnson's “crooked knob” of Sherman's Noel Gallagher's Liam Gallagher being “crooked like Beckham's” in front of the Spice Girls at Wembley Stadium in 1993.

During the three-minute-long sketch, the two play combat, stick their tongues at each other and parody lyrics from Oasis' smash hit “Wonderwall,” as Johnson belts out that they'll probably go on tour: “We might have said, if Liam didn't act like a baby. ”

“Listen, I really need your tour to work because I've already bought the tickets, and I'm going to work so hard that I win the White Boy of the Year Award,” Jost said.

After a 15-year separation following a physical altercation between the two brothers before a concert in Paris in 2009, talks of an Oasis reunion began late this summer, leading to Noel Gallagher's departure from the group. Since then, the dispute has been famously documented, with frontman Liam Gallagher suing guitarist-songwriter Noel Gallagher and insulting each other for years in the press.

Oasis, formed in 1991, pioneered the “Britpop” era with their debut album. Of course it can be becoming the fastest selling debut album ever. With their popularity unchanged on Spotify with 21 million listeners, Ticketmaster has faced a number of problems following the surge in demand for concert tickets.

Last month, the group announced the North American leg of their global tour Oasis Live '25.
