Lana Del Rey has reportedly married an alligator tour guide in Louisiana
Pop star Lana Del Rey has ended weeks of speculation by marrying her alligator tour guide boyfriend Jeremy Dufresne in Louisiana.
The couple applied for a marriage license Monday in the state's Lafourche Parish, south of New Orleans.
According to records seen by the BBC, the star used her legal name Elizabeth Woodridge Grant in the document.
Court records show the petition was valid for one month and was signed by a clerk of court.
US media reports said Del Rey and Mr Dufresne did not wait that long and tied the knot on Thursday in Des Allemandes, Louisiana, where Mr Dufresne works as a boat tour operator.
“Both the wedding ceremony and reception were held on the same bayou where Jeremy conducts his swamp boat tours,” People magazine reported Friday, citing a source.
Del Rey has not publicly commented on the reported wedding.
The pair met again in 2019, when the singer posted a photo of one such tour and wrote on his Facebook page: “Jeremy Lemme captains Arthur Airboat Tours X”.
The couple have been spotted together this summer at festivals in Reading and Leeds, where Del Rey was the headliner, and in London.
The 39-year-old singer rose to fame in 2011 with the success of her self-titled debut album and its breakout single Video Games, and has cultivated a glamorous and somewhat enigmatic image while releasing a total of nine albums.
His latest effort, Did You Know There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd., received mostly positive reviews and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best of the Year.
Mr. Dufresne's bio on Arthur's Air Boat Tours' website notes that he worked at a chemical plant until he decided it was “not his calling.”
“After a little persuasion by his family, he got his captain's license and started running tours,” it read.
“Jeremy is a great airboat captain and loves interacting with wildlife and customers.”
