Jennifer Aniston marks 1 year since Matthew Perry's death with touching tribute

The “Friends” star shared a collection of photos of her former cast mates on Instagram on Monday, posting intimate moments from the set of the sitcom including a snap of a scene they shared together and a headshot of her late friend.

She captioned the post, “1 year,” which included a bandaged heart and a dove emoji.

Aniston went on to tag The Matthew Perry Foundation, a nonprofit established in the actor's honor after he died of a ketamine overdose in October 2023 at the age of 54.

Perry was undergoing medically supervised ketamine treatment for depression and anxiety but was not under the care of a doctor at the time of his death.

The Matthew Perry Foundation continues its commitment to supporting people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.

Throughout her life, the “17 Again” star has been open about her problems with drugs and alcohol, as well as her mission to help others overcome their struggles with substance abuse.

In her 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and Bigger Scarier Things,” Perry wrote, “When I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, 'friends' would be better off listed far behind what I've done trying to help other people.” to do.”

On Monday, Perry's family appeared on the “Today” show to discuss her continued work through the foundation.

“He made it a big focus of his life to help other people, to encourage other people to say, 'I need help.' He tried to show people that it was a brave thing to do,” sister Caitlin Morrison told host Savannah Guthrie.

Nearly a year after Perry's death, friends and family are also seeking justice from those who helped supply the star with drugs.

Five people, including two doctors, were charged in connection with her death in August.
