American band Jane's Addiction canceled the remaining dates of their tour after a few days A stage brawl in BostonMassachusetts.
On Friday night, the band – which hails from Los Angeles – cut their gig short after frontman Perry Farrell threw a punch at guitarist David Navarro.
In a statement posted on social media on Monday, the band said it had “made the difficult decision to take some time as a group”.
The band also said point-of-purchase refunds would be issued for canceled dates.
The band had 12 gigs on their tour across the US before it was canceled before ending in their hometown on October 16.
Social media footage from Friday night's gig showed Pharrell Navarro, 65, yelling at and punching him, before being restrained by staff and hauled off the stage at Boston's Leader Bank Pavilion.
According to Pharrell's wife, Etty, there was “tension and hostility” between the band members in the lead up to the incident. He added that Pharrell was frustrated with the amount of time the band played.
Jane's Addiction formed in Los Angeles in 1985 and is considered one of the breakthroughs of the early alternative rock scene.
The band consists of Pharrell, Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery.
They reunited recently after a gap of more than a decade.
