Is Davante Adams “week to week” in his last week with the Raiders?

The final days of Davante Adams' time with the Raiders may have arrived.

Adams was healthy three days ago. Then, at the end of Thursday's practice, he “pulled up limp” and “grabbed his hamstring.”

Via ESPN.com's Adam Schefter, Adams is now “week to week“Five weeks and two days from the trade deadline.

Adams jumped on recent suggestions of a potential trade. However, it was evident from his in-game 2023 comments that made it to the final the receiver The series in which he was beside himself a year ago. It seemed that someone (presumably, new coach Antonio Pierce) convinced Adams to give the team a clean slate and that, if the season went sideways, he would be traded.

Last weekend's embarrassing loss to the Panthers became a clear sign that things were about to go sideways in Vegas. Pierce's post-game comments about players making “business decisions” raised a lot of eyebrows, since business decisions aren't usually made in Week 3.

Then, Pierce considered switching from Gardner Minshew to Aidan O'Connell at quarterback after subbing Minshew for O'Connell during last week's loss.

Under his contract, Adams' salary will rocket to $35.64 million next year. A three-year, $22.9 million deal was signed by the Packers for up to $28 million while APY was targeted for the same amount for 2025 and 2026.

As it stands, Adams (who is making just $16.89 million this year) is underpaid on a team that is performing poorly. And it will likely underperform without Adams on the field.

Unless they can turn around by cutting him, why bring him back before the trade deadline? And given that this will be his last year with the Raiders under his current contract, why wouldn't the Raiders ship him to a rival (like the Jets) on or before Nov. 5?
