Headliner band 'Murderer' Kyle Rittenhouse has made the big announcement after pulling out of the festival

After pulling out of a music festival when they learned that right-wing favorite boy Kyle Rittenhouse had been invited to appear, Evergreen Terrace announced it was putting together a benefit show.

“Orlando, we'll see you soon,” the band said in a Facebook post to its fans. “We are currently organizing a show with bands that have dropped out of Shell Shock Fest. All proceeds from Evergreen will go to a related veterans organization. Update soon.”

The band added: “We play shows, not rallies.”

At an upcoming music festival in Orlando, Fla., the band and headliner pulled out of the lineup knowing Rittenhouse had been invited as a guest.

Metalcore band Evergreen Terrace, who headlined the “Shell Shock II” festival, announced in a social media post Saturday that the band will no longer be performing at the Oct. 17 festival due to Rittenhouse's appearance. Loudwire reported that a Slipknot cover band will now replace them as headliners.

In 2020, Rittenhouse shot three people, killing two of them and injuring a third, during a protest against police brutality in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Rittenhouse was acquitted because he argued that he fired in self-defense after the men attacked him. Since then he has used his case to make money as a right-wing hero.

“Evergreen Terrace has always supported and continues to support philanthropic events for veterans, PTSD awareness, child poverty and more, but we will not combine capitalizing on their pseudo-celebrity with an event promoting murderers like Kyle Rittenhouse,” Evergreen Terrace said in its statement. .

“Unfortunately, we did not do our due diligence with this particular event. Even after they offered to pull Kyle from the event, we discovered several related entities that we disagree with,” the statement continued.

Loudwire reports that at least three bands – Southpaw, Let Me Bleed and American Hollow – have also pulled out of the festival.

Comments on the band's Facebook post were mostly positive, though some trolls repeated the same tired one-liner: “Who are you?”

“I am a grandmother. Not familiar with your band, but I applaud your decision. He may be acquitted, but he should not be regarded as a celebrity, or called someone to be admired. I'm going to listen to some of your songs now.”

“Thank you for standing up for what is right.”

“”We play shows, not rallies” would look great on a shirt.”

“Keep up the good work. Fans will respect you. Forget about those idiots.”
