“He Fooled Hollywood For Years”: Peacock Releases Docusery Based On 'Grey's Anatomy' Author Case

The Elizabeth Finch case was one that shocked the entertainment industry, and now a three-part documentary will bring the story to a wider audience.

Streamer Peacock revealed on Tuesday that it is finalizing a three-part documentary on the former's story Grey's Anatomy The writer and executive producer, whose harrowing tale of bone cancer inspired at least one storyline on the ABC juggernaut until its 2022 debut was thrown into doubt. Anatomy of a lie The chart will “rise and fall Grey's Anatomy star writer Elizabeth Finch, whose jaw-dropping lies have fooled Hollywood for years,” Peacock said in a press release Tuesday.

Before 2022, Finch was known as a successful TV writer – he also worked for True blood, no ordinary family And The Vampire Diaries — who has been professionally and publicly outspoken about important alleged personal struggles. He battled chondrosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer; lost a kidney; had a miscarriage; and experience harassment at work. In March 2022, Finch was placed on administrative leave Grey's Anatomy During human resource investigation about the veracity of his claim. He later took a leave of absence and, in a December 2022 Anchor piece, admitted that he had never had any type of cancer.

A Anatomy of a lie In the trailer released Tuesday, Finch's estranged wife Jennifer Beyer and close acquaintances talk about Finch's alleged personal journey and how they felt later when they learned there was a fabrication. “For years, he fooled Hollywood. He fooled us all,” says the series' voiceover.

Neither did Finch's attorney Grey's Anatomy Distributor ABC responded to a request for comment on the series.

Anatomy of a lie Executive produced and co-directed by Evgenia Peretz, writer of a two-parter Vanity Fair series about Finch's time in Hollywood and relationship with Baer. David Shisgal (Very young girls, real life) also co-directed. The series is produced by Vanity Fair Studios and Dorothy Saint Pictures.
