DD will settle cases before so many toxic celebrities are named, says PR expert
DDIts reputation is so toxic these days, no one in Hollywood wants to be associated with it — and any celebrity connected to its team or allegations will likely pay to avoid being named in a lawsuit … so says an expert on crisis public relations.
Evan NiermanA veteran Crisis PR manager, joined us on “TMZ Live” Monday and we asked what her advice would be to celebrities who are at risk of being named as defendants alongside Diddy in the civil suit.
One of the latest lawsuits against Diddy mentions two unnamed celebrities, and Evan says the famous people, whoever they are, would be wise to cut a check to the plaintiffs and their attorneys. Tony Buzby … to avoid their names being associated with DD.
Even if they're innocent, Evan says that a celeb being mentioned alongside Diddy in a lawsuit would be a death knell for the brand … after Diddy's rep was accused of how toxic it is.
Evan says Buzbee is using the media to push celebrities to settle out of court, but that's just how the game is played… and raising cash to eliminate a potentially massive problem is a smart PR move.
Although Evan suggests that most celebrities will do whatever it takes to keep their names a secret … he feels that more than one person in Hollywood will soon drag their name into the Diddy mess.
For that, Diddy's He denied all the allegations Against him, but Evan says the PR damage has already been done and it's going to be nearly impossible for Diddy's brand to come back.
