'Beef' Season 2 Starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, Callie Spaney
“Biff” starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Callie Spaney is officially moving forward with a second season on Netflix.
It has long been rumored that a second season of the series is going ahead but nothing has been officially confirmed until now. The new season's official logline states, “A young couple witnessing an alarming battle between their boss and his wife, initiates the favor and coercion of chess in the elite world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.”
The season will consist of eight 30-minute episodes. Lee Sung Jin returns as creator, showrunner and executive producer. Steven Yeun, Ali Wong and Jack Schreier also executive produce. A24 is the studio.
The first season of “Biff” stars Wang and Yoon as two men involved in a road rage incident that quickly escalates and disrupts both of their lives. The series premiered in 2023 to critical acclaim. It won eight Emmy Awards, including Best Limited or Anthology Series.
Isaac's most recent TV role was the lead role in the Marvel-Disney+ series “Moon Knight”, where he also starred in shows such as “Scenes from a Marriage” opposite Jessica Chastain and the miniseries “Show Me a Hero”. Was on HBO. Isaac earned an Emmy nod for his work on the former series. He is also known for his roles in the new “Star Wars” trilogy, the first of Denis Villeneuve's “Dune” films, and “Ex-Machine.” He and Mulligan previously appeared together in the Cohen brothers' film “Inside Llewyn Davis.”
Mulligan is a three-time Oscar nominee – one for “Maestro”, another for “Promising Young Woman” and finally for “An Education”, all of which were in the Best Actress category. He received Golden Globe nominations for all three of these films, in addition to one for his work in “She Says”. Her other film credits include “Pride and Prejudice” and “Never Let Me Go.” He has also starred in shows like the Netflix series “Collateral” as well as the British drama series “Bleak House” among others.
Melton won critical acclaim for her role in the feature “May December” opposite Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman. He earned numerous awards and nominations for that film, including a Golden Globe nod. He has also appeared in films such as “Bad Boys for Life” and “Heart of Champions,” while his TV credits include “Riverdale,” “American Horror Story,” and “Poker Face.”
Spaney recently starred in the hit film “Alien: Romulus,” part of the blockbuster “Alien” franchise. He likewise starred in movies like “Civil War” and played the title role in Sofia Coppola's “Priscilla.” He also has a role in “Wake Up, Dead Man,” the upcoming third film in the “Knife Out” franchise. On television, Spaney has appeared on the shows “Mayor of Easttown”, “Daves” and “The First Lady”.
