Barry Williams Admits 'Brady Bunch' Co-Stars Are 'All Into Each Other'
Barry Williams is getting real about past relationships and hook-ups shared among his “Brady Bunch” co-stars.
“We were all connected to each other at some point,” the 69-year-old actor told Us Weekly. “Not necessarily when we were filming.”
“I dated Maureen [McCormick]and Chris [Knight] The date is Eve [Plum] and Michael [Lookinland] and Susan [Olsen] At one point there was a little mock wedding. So, yes, we all got along,” he added.
Although Williams said the “hook-ups” were only between younger stars, she had a “teenage crush” on her TV mother, the late Florence Henderson.
“I definitely had a teenage crush on him,” Williams said. “And he's got a very lively personality and a great sense of humor, but I knew I wanted to make music my career. [in] Acting, and so I talked to him a lot about it.
“I saw this singer coming to Copacabana near Beverly Hills,” he continued. “I can't remember exactly where, but I asked her out as a date, and she said, 'Okay,' so I was thrilled. And now for me, it was a date.”
“We were recognized, and so people were whispering about us, which is weird, but we talked about the singer, his orchestration, the band he was in, and what the tour was like,” Williams added. “And he gave me an idea of what life would be like now at the end of the date. And this is chronicled in my book. I went for a little kiss, and he was nice enough to return it. So it was a highlight. Nice little peck, yeah .”
“The Brady Bunch” aired for five seasons on ABC from 1969 to 1974, and its success inspired numerous spinoff titles.
In 2021, Williams opened up about navigating fame at a young age.
“Those were very intense years for me,” Williams recalled on the Australian morning talk show, “Today Extra.” “All my teenage years, 14 to 20, were in 'The Brady Bunch'.”
“There were a lot of changes,” Williams said of going through physical changes with her younger co-stars. “You hear the voice change, you see the hair change, you see the growth spurt with all of us.”
“So, it was sometimes awkward and sometimes funny, but I always enjoyed watching people show,” he added.
