'American Pickers' star Frank Fritz's cause of death revealed
“American Pickers” star Frank Fritz's cause of death has been revealed.
The reality star, who died Sept. 30 at age 60, died from “late sequelae of cerebral infarction,” according to Fritz's death certificate obtained by TMZ.
The condition is commonly known as stroke.
Fritz's death certificate also states that his stroke was brought on by cerebral vascular disease, a condition that affects blood flow and blood vessels in the brain, according to University of Michigan Health.
The reality TV star also had aortic stenosis, a chronic condition that can narrow the amount of blood that flows from the heart to the rest of the body, and COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a condition caused by damage to the airways or other parts of the body. of the lungs which obstructs airflow and makes breathing difficult. Both of these conditions contributed to Fritz's death, according to official documents.
Fritz co-star and friend Mike Wolf announced the History Channel alum's tragic death on social media on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
“It is with a broken heart that I share with you all that Frank passed away last night,” she wrote on Instagram. “I did [known] Frank has been for more than half of my life and what you see on TV, a visionary who was as sensitive as he was funny. As he was off camera, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of many simply by being himself.”
Fritz was hospitalized for a stroke two years before his death.
Wolff, 60, added, “Before the show we would travel together to places we never knew destinations existed and just had a shared passion to discover something interesting and historic.” miles.”
The star ended her post by writing, “I feel blessed to have been by her side as she made her final journey home. I love you my friend and will miss you so much I know you are in a good place.”
Fritz and Wolfe have co-hosted “American Pickers” since 2010, traveling the United States in search of rare artifacts and treasures to sell to antique stores or add to their personal collections.

They continued, “We will always remember the 'bearded charmer' and his endless search for vintage motorcycles and bikes. Our thoughts are with Frank's loved ones at this difficult time. He will be deeply missed.”
In July 2022, Wolff took to Instagram to share the news of Fritz's stroke.
“I've been very private over the past year about Frank's life and the journey he's on,” she captioned her post at the time. “There are many opinions about me and Frank's friendship and the show but now is not the time to set the record straight. Now is the time to pray for my friend.”
“Frank suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts,” Wolfe continued. “Frank I pray more than anything that you are okay. I love you friend.”
Fritz stopped appearing on “American Pickers” during season 21 and was later replaced by Wolfe's brother, Rob.
