American Airlines flight attendants immediately approved a new contract with a 20% raise

American Airlines Flight attendants approved a five-year labor agreement, ending one of the industry's most contentious contract negotiations and giving cabin crew a more than 20% raise in early October.
Eighty-seven percent of American Airlines flight attendants voted for the contract, the union said Thursday, shortly after voting closed.
“This agreement marks a significant milestone for our flight attendants, providing an immediate wage increase of up to 20.5%, along with significant back pay for time spent negotiating,” said Julie Hedrick, president of the Professional Flight Attendants Association, which represents the carrier's 28,000 cabin crew. member
