The band became known for their edgy, punk-inspired hits as the alternative rock and grunge music movements grew in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

In videos posted on social media from Friday night's concert in Boston, Pharrell, 65, can be seen singing loudly into his mic and then lunging at guitarist Dave Navarro, hitting Navarro with his shoulder before swinging at Navarro with his right arm. Navarro can be seen holding up his right arm to keep Pharrell at bay before being dragged off stage by others. After a while the show ended.
