‘Let’s Just Listen To Music’: Trump Turns Town Hall Into Concert Prompting Mockery From Harris
Topline
Former President Donald Trump’s Town Hall in Pennsylvania on Monday turned into a more than half-hour-long “music fest” where the former president slowly swayed and danced while the crowd slowly streamed out of the venue, prompting immediate mockery from both Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign.
Key Facts
Two separate medical emergencies in the crowd interrupted the event, which Trump blamed on the heat, while the moderator—South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem—quipped about the venue being unable to afford air conditioning “in this economy.”
Trump called for Ave Maria to be played at first during both interruptions, but the former president spoke only briefly after the second person received treatment.
Trump then said, “Let’s not do any more questions. Let’s just listen to music. Let’s make it into a music fest. Who the hell wants to hear questions right? Isn’t that beautiful?”
Trump then stood on stage swaying and bobbing to the music, while the crowd appeared unsure if the event was over, the Associated Press reported.
After the Village People’s “YMCA” was played—usually a song played at the end of Trump’s rallies—the former president remained on stage and asked, “Nobody’s leaving, what’s going on?”
A few more songs were played as the “music fest” segment of the town hall lasted more than 30 minutes, as the crowd slowly streamed out of the venue, and ended only when Trump finally left the stage.

How Did The Harris Campaign React?
Harris’ official campaign account on social media shared a clip of the former president slowly swaying to the music on stage, and wrote: “Trump appears lost, confused, and frozen on stage as multiple songs play for 30+ minutes and the crowd pours out of the venue early.” Harris herself shared the post, adding: “Hope he’s okay.” In a follow-up post, the campaign mocked Trump by pointing out that he told his supporters to “go out and vote on ‘January 5th’” and “Rambled about Hannibal Lecter, a cannibal serial killer who is not real.”
What Has The Trump Campaign Said?
Trump’s National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a clip of him dancing to the YMCA on X with the text “DJ TRUMP!” The Trump Campaign Spokesperson Steven Cheung first tweeted “Something very special is happening in Pennsylvania right now at the Trump townhall,” and then wrote “Total lovefest at the PA townhall! Everyone was so excited they were fainting so Donald Trump turned to music.”
