Flaming Lips member Steven Drozd's daughter, 16, has been found by police
The teenage daughter of Flaming Lips band member Steve Drozd has been found.
Seattle police told The Post on Tuesday that they have found Charlotte “Bobby” Drozd after she went missing on Saturday, Oct. 5.
“The Seattle Police Department can confirm that 16-year-old Charlotte Drozd has been located and is now safe with her family,” Seattle PD said in a statement to the Post.
Police shared a missing person's alert on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday, providing a photo of Charlotte as well as details that could help identify her.
The Flaming Lips drummer's daughter was last seen at 11:30 a.m. Saturday near the Space Needle and the Seattle Monorail on Broad Street in downtown Seattle.
Shortly before police found Charlotte, Katy Coyne, who is married to Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, posted on Instagram that “'Boy' Drozd has been found safe outside of Seattle.”
“Thanks to everyone for helping bring him home safely,” Katy continued. “[T]There is no other information on the situation yet but he has just been found 🙏.”
Wayne also shared the good news on Instagram, beginning with, “Yessssss,” before adding, “He's been found and safe.. his mom talked to him.”
“Thank you all for all your posts and all your networking and all your support and all your expertise and all your faith and all your love!!!”
Seattle police declared Charlotte's disappearance an active missing person's case over the weekend and assigned a missing persons detective to the investigation.
Drozd's bandmates, friends and family shared news of Charlotte's disappearance on social media, urging the public to help in the search.
Coyne and rock icon Weezer were among those who shared Charlotte's missing person poster on Instagram.
“Thank you Wayne for posting,” Drozd commented. “We don't know what to do.”
The Flaming Lips' social media accounts also spread the word and were joined by current and former members of the band, including Michael Ivins, Cliff Scurlock, Matthew Duckworth and Nicholas Leigh. Celebrities such as Juliette Lewis, Jack Black and Red Hot Chili Peppers have also posted fleas.
The Flaming Lips are scheduled to perform in Sacramento on Tuesday night.
In addition to dealing with missing Charlotte over the weekend, the band is also mourning the death of 17-year-old Canadian singer Nell Smith, who worked with the Flaming Lips on their 2021 Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds cover album, “Where the Viaduct Looms.”
At the band's concert in Portland on Sunday, Coyne said Smith was killed in a car accident, though an official cause of death has not yet been released.
