When is Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days 2024 event?
Amazon has its official Prime Day in July every year. Amazon's second event, Prime Big Deals Days, is often referred to as October Prime Day. In 2024, it takes place 8 and 9 October. Leading up to and throughout the days of the event, you'll find great savings, especially on Amazon devices and popular items like TVs, home security, and other tech. For many, this now-annual fall shopping event is the kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
Do you have to be an Amazon Prime member to buy Prime Day deals?
Yes, Amazon's Prime Deal Days sale requires a Prime subscription if you want to get any of the Prime-exclusive deals. You don't have to be one to pay Subscriber until the event occurs within your Prime trial period. That means you can start your month-long trial right before the event and save for free. For more information on that, check out our guide to getting Amazon Prime perks without paying for a subscription.
Is the Amazon Prime deal worth buying?
Depending on what you're after, the short answer is yes. There will be thousands of items discounted, and we expect some deals to return or reach all-time lows. Because Amazon stock can fluctuate wildly, there's no telling how long an item will be on sale or available.
Will other retailers start anti-Prime Day sales?
Every Prime Day event brings big savings from Amazon, and that means Amazon's competitors offer discounts to lure customers. This October will be no exception. We're already seeing deals like Walmart's Holiday Deals sale event, which kicks off on the same day as Prime Big Deals Day.
How we choose the best Amazon Prime Big Deal Days deals
Many of us at CNET have covered shopping events for more than five years, including Black Friday, Prime Day, Memorial Day and countless other sales. In that time, we've learned how to find the best deals in a sea of thousands of superficial offers and scams. We only show the best offers from trusted retailers We look for real discounts, quality reviews and remaining sales time when choosing the best deals to show you.
- Real discounts mean real savings. We examine the price history of products listed as sales to determine when a list price is inflated rather than an actual discount.
- Quality review and testing is very important for any product. A discount isn't worth it if it results in a subpar product experience, no matter how much you save.
- Remaining sales time is also important. Some deals are for a limited time only or supplies may be limited. If this is the case, we will notify you in advance so that you do not return to the contract later to be disappointed.
