Here are the start times for the Tigers-Guardians playoff series
Cleveland – They already knew who and where.
Now, when they know everything.
Game times for the entire American League Division Series between the Tigers and Cleveland Guardians have been finalized by Major League Baseball.
The Tigers and Guardians open the best-of-five series at Progressive Field on Saturday at 1:08 p.m., with Game 2 set for Monday at 4:08 p.m.
The series then shifts to Detroit's Comerica Park, where Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at 3:08 p.m. and Game 4, if necessary, begins Thursday at 6:08 p.m.—the same night the Red Wings open their season just down the road at Little Caesars Arena. If there is a Game 5, it will be back in Cleveland, Saturday, October 12, starting at 4:38 p.m.
That means, the Tigers are scheduled as the first MLB playoff game of the day for the entire first two rounds of the playoffs. The first game was when they swept the Astros in two games in Houston.
Depending on the other series, Tiger-Guardians has a few asterisks in its time. If the San Diego Padres-Los Angeles Dodgers series is a sweep, Tigers-Guardians Game 3 will begin Wednesday at 4:08; Game 4 moves back to 8:08 Thursday when the New York Yankees-Kansas City Royals series ends; And Game 5 will be moved again to Saturday at 8:08, if the Yankees-Royals series is complete.
American League Division Series games are on TBS and 97.1. Tickets for both games in Detroit sold out quickly.
Tyler Holton opened for the Tigers in Game 1 against the Guardians' Tanner Bibby. The Tigers started Tarik Skubal in Game 2, setting him up for a potential Game 5 pitch.
