A representative for Combs did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but Combs has strongly denied any involvement in the past.
During the height of the East Coast-West Coast hip-hop feud, 25-year-old Shakur was shot and killed in Las Vegas in September 1996. His murder remains unsolved, but a break in the cold case came in September 2023 when Compton Crips gang member Duane Keith “Kef D” Davis was arrested and charged with Shakur's murder.
Davis — who goes to trial in March 2025 — claims Combs offered Shakur $1 million for a hit.
In September, nearly a year after his ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Casey” Ventura filed a bombshell sexual assault lawsuit against the mogul, Combs was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Spiro represents the likes of one of Hollywood's top attorneys, Megan Thee Stallion, Jay-Z and Elon Musk. His most recent high-profile case ended in victory when a New Mexico judge dismissed the involuntary manslaughter charge against actor Alec Baldwin. Spiro is currently representing New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who is facing corruption and bribery charges.
