Here's what Lynch had to say astutely when asked about the Adams-to-49ers possibility

While Davante Adams seems unlikely to be traded to the 49ers, San Francisco general manager John Lynch wouldn't rule out the possibility.

“We love our group. Davante is a player,” Lynch said on KNBR's “Murph & Marcus” Friday morning. “One thing we've shown is we're always looking, we're never afraid to look and see what's out there. . We are never afraid to pull the trigger. But I think coming into this year, we think our list is in a pretty good place.

“We've had some injuries, but we'll never say never. And it's got to work. It's got to work for both sides, but it's got to work for us. I'm not going to comment on any specific players but right now we're where our roster is. There is.”

The All-Pro receiver prefers reuniting with his former NFL quarterbacks — Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets or Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints — Schefter reported.

But Adams is open to other destinations as well. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys and 49ers are all among teams that have either inquired about the six-time Pro Bowler or will land Adams wherever he wants, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with Adams' thoughts.

NFL World Learned Lynch & Co. prefers to play chess when others prefer to play checkers, and his recent comments further prove that nothing is off the table in Santa Clara.
