Andy Reid: Rashi Rice is still testing
The Chiefs are worried about the bad news about Rashee Rice, but head coach Andy Reid didn't have a definitive diagnosis when he spoke to reporters at his Monday press conference.
“As far as Rashi's injury goes, we are still examining him Here's the thing” Reid said. “So, I don't have a specific one [diagnosis] For you right now. But we will get it to you. Apparently, he won't be available this week. So we're going to make sure that we've got all the tests that need to be done, done. And then we'll let you know about it.”
Rice is feared to have torn his ACL. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was hurt after throwing an interception in the first half of Sunday's eventual win over the Chargers.
A second-round pick in last year's draft, Rice has become Mahomes' go-to receiver early this season. He recorded 24 receptions for 288 yards with two touchdowns in the first three games.
Meanwhile, without Hollywood Brown, the Chiefs currently have Xavier Worthy, Mecole Hardman, Juju Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson and Skye Moore at receiver on the 53-man roster. They have receivers Justin Ross, Nico Remizio and Montrell Washington on the practice squad.
