Alabama ranks 1-134 in the NCAA over Georgia
Alabama takes over as the new No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports NCAA Re-Ranks 1-134 after Saturday night's memorable win over Georgia.
The Crimson Tide jumped four spots from last week while the Bulldogs dropped four spots to No. 5. The pair sandwich No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Tennessee.
Alabama leads the Longhorns by just a hair. Texas has a very good road win over Michigan and a second Power Four win over Mississippi State in the program's SEC debut. The Crimson Tide's win on Saturday was the best of any team so far this season, and they also won in non-conference play at Wisconsin. Also, Alabama's win over Western Kentucky opens the Longhorns' Group of Five with wins over Colorado State, Texas-San Antonio and Louisiana-Monroe.
A high-profile road loss to Georgia puts the highest-ranked one-loss team and Bulldogs ahead of undefeated Power Four contenders No. 6 Oregon, No. 7 Penn State, No. 8 Miami, No. 9 Iowa State and No. 10 Missouri.

Another assumed SEC contender suffered a steep drop. After a 20-17 loss to Kentucky, Mississippi fell from No. 6 to No. 15. In the Big 12, Utah dropped seven spots to No. 16 after losing to Arizona.
Two new faces make up the top 25. One is No. 24 Rutgers, which moved to 4-0 for the first time since 2012 after picking up a narrow win over Washington. Next is No. 25 Indiana, which is 5-0 after beating Maryland in the Big Ten opener for the first time since 1967.
