Adele's life away from the public eye is allegedly being throttled by Scientology
One of Adele's homes in the peaceful town of East Grinstead surrounded by beautiful West Sussex scenery. In 2017, the “Someone Like You” singer bought a home in the English countryside, an eight-bedroom, Tudor-style mansion called Ridge Hill Manor, located just outside East Grinstead.
While the celebrity mansion has some impressive features such as exposed beam ceilings, large Inglenook fireplaces, a tennis court and three guest cottages, it's not the architecture that comedian and close friend of Adele Alan Carr says is the reason a certain group, the Scientologists, bought the plot from her. Interested in doing.

“Adele has a secret house in East Grinstead and the Scientologists tried to buy it from her,” Carr shared. the mirror. When she initially bought the home in 2017, insiders noted that she “deliberately chose the least showbiz place she could think of so she could live a normal, unfussy existence” to keep her son Angelo out of the limelight.
However, due to the city's connection to Scientology – and all the celebrity that comes with it – it proved more difficult for the singer than he initially expected.
East Grinstead has been known for its Scientology connections for decades. To the south-west of the town is St Hill Manor, another stunning country house built in 1792. L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, made it his home in 1959. The manor served as Scientology's world headquarters until 1967 and is still owned by the church today.
Although the manor hosts events such as the annual Saint Hill Gala, which attracts members from around the world, the gatherings have stirred controversy among locals who aren't exactly thrilled with the organization's decision to make one of its primary centers in the city. The estate has seen visits from famous Scientology members such as Tom Cruise, who reportedly used a wing of the manor as his retreat during the pandemic lockdown.
Adele bought the mansion with her then-husband Simon Konecki, and despite their 2020 divorce, she remains in the home. It doesn't look like she's looking to move out of her West Sussex-adjacent home anytime soon, regardless of who is trying to buy it from her.
