Gene Smart to host 'SNL' season 50 opener with Nate Bergatze, Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton and John Mulaney
do you know Saturday Night Live Was it turning 50? Well, it's that and Gene Smart kicking off the celebration as hosts of the long-running NBC show Opener.
Smart, fresh off her Emmy win over the weekend, will host the Sept. 28 show with another Emmy attendee, musician Jelly Roll, who sang as part of the In Memoriam tribute.
Elsewhere, Nate Bargatze, Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton and John Mulaney are set to host SNL Starting with five shows in a row.

Bergatze, who returns for his second turn in a year since his debut, will host Coldplay as the musical guest on October 5. Grande, who will be joined by Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks, will host on October 12. Keaton will be joined on October 19 by Billie Eilish and former SNL Star Mulaney returns to host Nov. 2 with Chappelle Rowan as the musical guest.
Coldplay has appeared eight times; Grande returns for her second stint as host; Nicks also returns as the musical guest for the second time, more than thirty years since her first; Keaton returns for his fourth time as host; Eilish will mark his fourth time as the musical guest and Mulaney's sixth time hosting.
