Kate at her first work meeting after cancer treatment
The Princess of Wales held her first work meeting since beginning cancer treatment earlier this year.
In another small step back into public life, the princess held a meeting at Windsor Castle on Tuesday about her childhood projects.
It follows Catherine's video message last week in which she expressed her relief that her chemotherapy is over.
The princess said this year had been “incredibly difficult” but she had gained a “new hope and appreciation of life”.
This latest update is part of Catherine's carefully managed comeback, which could see her make fewer public appearances later this year, such as a Remembrance event in November and her annual Christmas carol concert.
There is still great caution about his health. He said in his video Last week that his “road to recovery and full recovery is long and I have to take each day as it comes”.
But his return to this meeting near his home in Windsor, recorded in official court circulars, suggests continued progress.
There are no details of the meeting, but one of Catherine's main projects is the Shaping Us campaign, raising awareness of the importance of early childhood, which she describes as her “life's work”.
This temporary return to work follows a year of health problems.
In January he was in hospital for stomach surgery and then in March it was revealed that he was undergoing treatment for cancer.
There were a few public appearances at Trooping the Color and the Wimbledon tennis championships, but it was mostly a year away from the public eye.
Last week's highly personal video, filmed with her family in Norfolk, described her emotional journey through the months of her cancer treatment – saying that “out of darkness can come light”.
The princess described the “stormy waters” of her cancer experience and how it felt “complicated, scary and unpredictable”.
“With humility, it brings you face to face with your own vulnerability in a way you've never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” he said.
