Zoë Kravitz ditches engagement ring in first outing as Channing Tatum reveals reason for split
Zoe Kravitz rocked a bare ring finger after calling off her engagement to fiance Channing Tatum — and now, we know the reason for their shock split.
The daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, 35, looked downcast as she stepped out in New York City on Wednesday, just hours after it was revealed that she and Tatum, 44, had broken up after three years together.
The “Blink Twice” director went casual for the outing in a white tank top and gray sweater — missing one noticeable accessory: her engagement ring.
The latest spotting comes after Kravitz was photographed earlier in the day.
The outfit, including a blue oversized button-up and navy Yankees cap, accessorized with star black sunglasses, earrings and a purse. Although he held his keys in his left hand, he hid his ring finger with his shirt sleeve.
The couple — who met in 2021 after Kravitz sent Tatum an early draft of the script for “Blink Twice” — reportedly ended their engagement last weekend; However, the news did not make headlines until Tuesday.
As for the reason for the split, a source told People, “They weren't on the same page and drifted apart.”
The Post reached out to the stars' reps.
They were seen together on October 6 in a drama starring Red Hook co-star Levon Hawke Tatum's “Blink Twice”.
While Kravitz and Tatum were promoting his directorial debut, they spoke repeatedly about their romance.
“This is what I would say about making someone you're with or love: I recommend it,” the “Magic Mike” actor said in July. “If you're thinking about having kids or if you're thinking about getting married, find the hardest possible creative project with your partner.”
During the flick's Los Angeles premiere in August, Kravitz told People that “art is our love language,” adding, “I think it's what we love, and we love to talk about it, and feel it, and support each other.”
On why she cast Tatum for the lead, she told Elle, “Watching her work and hearing her talk about 'Magic Mike' and live shows, I think, I think she's a feminist. It's who you need to be so far away from, where it's not scary. And I don't think we've ever seen him play in the dark. I'm excited to see him do it.”
Tatum and Kravitz were romantically linked in August 2021. They confirmed their relationship that October post Halloween.
The “21 Jump Street” actor proposed to Kravitz with a giant rock around this time last year.
Tatum and Kravitz's wedding is set for next year, according to her rock star father, who spilled the beans about their nuptials.
“He's a really great guy,” Lenny said on the British radio show “Joe Ball & Friends” on May 31. So, you know, he has manners. He is charming. He is a lively man. And so, he became a part of the family very quickly.”
He added, “She is fit and they are in love. We are going to get married next year.”
This would have been marriage number 2 for both of them.
Kravitz was married to actor Carl Glusman, 36, for just 18 months before filing for divorce in January 2021. The pair finalized their divorce a few months later in August, the same month Tatum was rumored to be dating.
Tatum famously married his “Step Up” co-star Jenna Dewan in 2009. The pair announced their separation in April 2018 and later that year filed to end their nearly nine-year marriage. However, their divorce was finalized last month. Tatum and Dewan have one child together: daughter Everly, 11.
Dewan is engaged to Steve Kazee, 49, who sparked a firestorm when she shared a repeating string of “haha” on her Instagram Story, seemingly mocking Tatum's breakup with Kravitz.
He later denied the allegations, claiming he was joking about a plant.
“In today's world a guy can't laugh at a houseplant tiktok I see…”, Qazi wrote in a follow-up post.
Her rep backed her up, telling Us Weekly, “She posted 'Hahaha' right before the meme to tag Jenna. If we go to the post now, it will show memes about not watering plants.”
