Robin Wright Explains Why He Didn't Hang Out With Tom Hanks On 'Forrest Gump' Set


Robin Wright recently revealed that she and Tom Hanks They never got to know each other while working on “Forrest Gump” — but that's not what he had to say about it.

Monday, He explained to “today”. The reason the two actors didn't bond on set was because Hanks — who played Forrest — was too busy, well, forestry.

“We were shooting that movie and every lunchtime, Tom was running, running wherever they could get him, so we didn't really hang out,” she told the outlet.

In the 1994 Oscar-winning film, running is a huge aspect of Hank's title character. As a child, Forrest became a runner out of a need to outrun his bullies. As an adult, he embarks on an epic three-year sprint across the United States “for no particular reason”.

The film features Hanks running through scenic locations such as the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and Monument Valley in Utah and Arizona. Per Smithsonian Magazine.

And though Hanks and Wright were apart during filming, Wright told “Today” they “got to know each other as adults” after reuniting with “Forrest Gump” director Robert Zemeckis for their upcoming movie, “Here.”
