Jeremy Allen White Boss in First Look of Bruce Springsteen Biopic 'Deliver Me From Nowhere'

The first look at “The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen in the biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere” has been revealed as production continues.

Directed and written by Scott Cooper (“Crazy Heart,” “Hostiles”), “Deliver Me From Nowhere” adapts Warren Janes' book of the same name about the making of Springsteen's 1982 album “Nebraska.” Filming is taking place primarily in Springsteen's native New Jersey and New York, with additional production in Los Angeles, and the movie will be released in theaters next year.

According to a press release, Springsteen's recording of “Nebraska” “marked a pivotal period in his life, one that he spoke about openly decades after its release. It is considered a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen's New Jersey bedroom and without The E Street Band, 'Nebraska' is considered one of Springsteen's most enduring works – a raw, haunting acoustic record made by lost souls searching for a reason to believe. either.”

Outside of Allen White, the cast includes Stephen Graham as Springsteen's father, guitar tech Mike Batlan and Paul Walter Hauser as Odessa Young, who is rumored to be playing the love interest. In May, diversity Jeremy Strong is reportedly in talks to play Springsteen's longtime manager Jon Landau.

From Disney's 20th Century Studios, “Deliver Me From Nowhere” was produced by Cooper along with Gotham Group's Ellen Goldsmith-Venn (“The Maze Runner” trilogy, “Juror No. 2”) and Eric Robinson (“Kodachrome,” “The Last Days”). , who developed the project with Cooper. Scott Stuber (“Frankenstein,” “Ted”) also produces. Tracy Landon (“Maestro,” “Amsterdam”), who recently worked with Cooper on “The Pale Blue Eye,” and Janes are executive producing.
