Matthew Perry's Los Angeles mansion where he died sold for $8.5 million a year after his death
Matthew Perry's Los Angeles mansion has a new owner.
The former residence of the late “Friends” star, who was found dead in the hot tub of her Pacific Palisades residence on Oct. 28, 2023, was purchased by movie producer and Arizona-based real estate developer Anita Verma-Lalian for $8.55 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
A representative for Verma-Lalian told the outlet that she will use the four-bedroom, 3,500-square-foot, mid-century modern property, which Perry bought in 2020 for $6 million, as a vacation home.
The rep also said the businesswoman purchased the home through a trust and was represented by Brooke Elliott Lorinkas of Christie's International Real Estate Southern California.
Perry died at age 54 “due to acute effects of ketamine,” according to the LA County Medical Examiner's Office.
His manner of death is listed as accidental.
The autopsy report listed drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine, an opioid, as other conditions that contributed to the actor's death.
Five people, including two doctors and Perry's longtime assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, have been charged in the “Fools Rush In” star's death.
Officials said Iwamasa administered the ketamine dose that killed the “17 Again” star.
Perry's stepfather Keith Morrison and his half-sister Caitlin Morrison reflected on the actor's death earlier this week.
“When [Matthew] died suddenly, it was incredibly traumatic… anyone who has lost a child will tell you that, even if you're somehow prepared for the possibility, it's still devastating,” a “Dateline” correspondent told Hello! Canada Wednesday.
Keith and Caitlin said they expressed their condolences to the Matthew Perry Foundation of Canada, which was recently created to honor the late star “by keeping his promise to help others through recovery.”
“He wants to be remembered for doing something to help people with addiction,” Keith added.
