Rapper Lil Dirk Accused of Orchestrating 'Cold-Blooded' 2022 Murders for Rent in LA

Rapper Lil Dirk has been arrested on federal charges, alleging that he conspired to kill fellow rapper Kwando Rondo in Los Angeles in 2022 for rent.

After Rondo's cousin Savia Robinson was fatally shot outside an LA gas station on August 19, 2022, the Grammy winner was arrested late Thursday near Miami International Airport as he tried to flee the country and charged with conspiracy to use interstate facilities. Killing for hire resulting in death.

“Mr. Banks has been charged with a cold-blooded murder that resulted in the death of a rival's family member,” US District Attorney Martin Estrada said in a statement. “Not only that, but a gas station at a busy intersection was opened fire, endangering many others in the area. This type of violent gun crime is devastating to our communities and we will have zero-tolerance for those who commit such brutal acts of violence.”

That same day, Banks reportedly flew to California on a private jet with Grant, who later bought ski masks for the shooting and paid for co-conspirators' hotel rooms with a card in Banks' name.

DA Estrada alleged that several OTF members tried to “track, stalk and kill” using two vehicles. [Bowman] for several hours,” culminating in a shootout in which at least 18 rounds were fired.

Banks made his initial appearance in a Florida court on Friday and is expected to be arraigned in Los Angeles federal court in the coming weeks.

Grant, Wilson, Jones, Lindsay and Houston made their initial court appearance in Illinois on Thursday and will be arraigned in LA soon. They each face one count of conspiracy, one count of using an interstate facility to commit a murder-for-hire resulting in death and one count of using, carrying and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime and one count of possession of a machine gun and such firearm. Death by violence. Jones faces an additional count of possession of a machine gun.
