Max Crosby: 'War Word' for Coach's Soft Talk
One of the biggest stories of the week came from Patriots coach Jerrod Mayo's revelation of his team as “soft.” part time Let's go! podcast featuring Raiders defensive ends Max Crosby and Jim Gray, the topic came up.
At first, Crosby answered with some confusion about how he would feel if his coach called him soft. He was then told by Gray that Mayo had used that word in reference to the Patriots.
“Shit,” Crosby said. “Well, shit. You know what I mean? He is a player. So, he got around to it. Played at the highest level. And, you know, if he feels that way, he feels that way, too. But, you know, I can't speak for him. But, yeah, I don't take it lightly. You know what I mean? If I were a player I would have a big problem, especially with another adult calling you soft. I mean, those are fighting words.”
The sound of fighting. It will be interesting to see if the Patriots players feel the same way — and if they respond by battling the Jets on Sunday.
