Rachael Ray has revealed she took 'a few bad falls' after causing health concerns
Rachael Ray has given an update on her health after appearing to slur her words in a cooking video last month.
The 56-year-old chef revealed in the first episode of his podcast, “I'll Sleep When I'm Dead,” that he recently endured “a couple of bad falls,” but didn't go into more detail.
“I am a housewife. I love work. I love being in the kitchen,” Ray said on Tuesday's podcast episode featuring guest Jenny Mollen “I always work with my brain every day, I always write something, but I really like work.”
“I like what people consider physical exertion,” he continued. “I love making dinner, planning dinner, making lists. I like manual labor, helping to carry wood.”
“I've had a couple of bad falls in the last few weeks, so I haven't been doing it in a while,” Ray added.
The former “Rachel Ray Show” host explained that she competes with her husband, John Cusimano, 57, when it comes to physical tasks.
“'How many pieces of wood did John carry? Can I afford more? I didn't tell it to John. I just tell myself,” she shared.
In early September, fans became concerned about Ray's health when he seemingly slurred his words in an Instagram clip from his “Rachel Ray in Tuscany” series.
Ray made Tony Bennett's favorite dish, osobuco, recalling the time the late singer arrived for dinner and collapsed on his polished kitchen floor.
However, fans were confused by the way Satyajith was speaking in the video.
“I love you but are you okay? I'm seriously worried,” read one of the many comments about her health status.
Others, however, defended Ray and noted that “he's aging like the rest of us” and may be taking medication for treatment.
Ray has yet to address his controversial video, even when he announced his first podcast earlier this month.
According to an official description of the podcast, “I'll Sleep When I'm Dead,” with a “melting pot” of dialogue that will touch on how Ray and his guests “face life's challenges.”
The description also states that the podcast has “no topic off-limits”.
During the first episode, Ray revealed that she gets “a lot of shouting matches all the time” with her husband, to whom she has been married since 2005.
However, Ray said he thinks the fights are “healthy” for his and Cusimano's relationship and that they rarely “apologize” to each other.
“Eventually I give him a pat on his ass or he kisses me on the head, and that's just the way it is,” she said. “This is an apology. It's just sort of understandable. 'I still like your ass.' 'I still like your head.' It's kind of in that zone.”
